Yo, FAMA is back ! The thought of seeing C-Kwan and 6 Wing again really brings the spark back into my life after feeling like super gloomy for the past 3 months. I was literally stuck at home as I had to recuperate from surgery. Headed to Genting on Saturday to catch the inaugural My Astro Music Awards Presentation (a joint collaboration between Astro and MyFm). Deep down, I already sensed that it's going to be another "pork dividing awards" (猪肉獎) and I was right. Once again, the main criteria in giving out the awards remains the same - artistes' participation is the key to getting awards. On a side note, it really baffles me that Joey Yung did not make it to the list…which is really unbelievable ! I had a bad feeling when I heard that Soda Green confirmed their attendance during the eleventh hour. To appease both FAMA and Soda Green, they came up with this so-called "bright" idea of having gold (Sodagreen), silver (FAMA) and bronze awards for "best group" category !!! This is the only category that has 3 awards! This is what I'd call “猪肉”to the extreme ! The show was way too long for comfort (5 hours, if include red carpet) and failed to sustain my attention. If I were to include the red carpet event, the show lasted for close to 5 hours. The songs rundown is okay but I’m not into Taiwanese acts. I was only "alert" when it was HK team’s show time. I'm glad FAMA managed to walk away with two awards and this is a good avenue for them to gain more publicity in Malaysia. Hopefully, they'll be back in our shores soon to promote their new album, scheduled to launch in HK next month. This is FAMA's 3rd trip to Malaysia (specifically Genting) and I've just read a report about FAMA's spooky encounter at Genting hotel room after the award ceremony. 真系0甘猛？This is definitely not the first case for HK celebrities.
