Although I lurv Justin's songs, I didn't enjoy his last concert at Mines Wonderland. I guess the venue is partly to be blamed. It sucks big time ! Justin was still a newcomer then. The songs were good but it lacks the punch of a concert.

This time around, I was really impressed !!! It's no secret that he is a vocal powerhouse but I didn't know that he can dance soooo well ! Sunny Wong did a great job training this dude. Í find myself actually enjoying his fast numbers more than his golden sentimental songs. I sure hope there'll be more fast tracks in his future efforts.

If I have one complaint, it's the English songs medley. I don't quite enjoy that segment, eventhough it managed to work-up the crowd. Everyone was on their feet and really high.

Overall, I had an awesome time and with this concert, Justin has come full circle. Justin has proven that he's an all round entertainer, not just a capable singer and composer. I look forward to more concert dates with Ah Tin !

Sammi "Mi Again" in Concert (鄭秀文Show Mi Again 2008 演唱會) - Genting Sept. 27.

I skipped Sammi's "Show Mi" concert last year as it coincided with a gruelling marathon that I've participated. In addition, my urge was kinda suppressed by the fact that I was utterly disappointed with her last concert at Genting - "Sammi Vs Sammi."

Despite my initial skepticisms,"Show Mi" tour turned out to be a blast in both HK and abroad. Her comeback concerts were such a huge success that Genting decided to entice Sammi into holding 2 more shows at Arena Of Stars. This time, it's called "Show Mi...Again." Almost the same run-down as before but with some minor changes in costumes. She performed to an almost capacity audience on Saturday night and from their reactions, Sammi can do no wrong. Almost all her evergreen hit songs are in the rundown. I have always lurved Sammi's energetic dance steps and fast tempo tracks but I must say that "Show Mi Power Medley" left an insipid after effect. I'm okay with the songs selections but I wish her choreographer could have thrown-in more effort in terms of dance steps. I've seen what Sammi is capable of doing on the dance floor and this definitely ain't her full-blast prowess !


Costumes wise, her attires were pretty simple, too. To put it bluntly, too simple for concerts of this nature. To be fair, Sammi did acknowledged during her earlier interview that the show will showcase her vocals rather than parading around in fancy costumes. Still....Sammi used to be the forerunner in making fashion statement in HK (nike eyebrow, bra top...you name it). The Sammi today has definitely mellowed a lot..which is understandable aftet going thru' such upheavel in life. To be able to pull off a successful comeback is no mean feat. You have to give her credit for that.

Her special guest artiste is Wilfred Lau Hoe Lung (last year was Hins Cheung). I wasn't even aware that he has become Sammi's labelmate. Wilfred is quite a talented singer. Too bad, lady luck eludes him. In HK, you need more than just good vocals to stand out from the crowd. He did two duets with Sammi-爱是…and 会过去的 . Needless to say, my favourite is "爱是…". Wilfred (师兄)is as good as MC Yan and after donkey years, I never get tired of this song. Worth mentioning is during Sammi's Power Medley, Wilfred deliberately came out from backstage to catch Sammi in action. Many fans took the opportunity to take pictures with him.


Mark my words - whenever there is a karaoke-with-fans session, you can expect to see loony (and embarassing)moments. No exception this time. The first male fan that joined Sammi on stage won loud applause from the audience. His voice is considered not bad, for an amateur. The next fan (a lady from Singapore)was having the time of her life ! Hugging Sammi again and again....posing with Sammi for pictures. Sammi was also funny with her quick banters. He can always expect that from Mi. Some fans commented that she has pack on the pounds but to me, it's a good sign. She used to be overly obsessed with her then pencil-thin frame but now,she is really taking life easy and living one day at a time. Everyone should stop making fuss about her weight and be thankful that this talented HK entertainer is back with a bang!

Barely 2 months after "HOD" (Heart Of Great) promotion in Ipoh, Moses, Tavia and Louise Lee are back in Malaysia ! Fans of Moses and Tavia must be rejoicing when they heard about this event. This time around, they are here to promote the sequel of "HOD", "Moonlight Resonance" as well as to attend an abalone lunch feast at Tai Thong restaurant with a bunch of lucky winners of MyFM's radio contest. The lunch treat is a closed event. Prior to attending the lunch session, they had a meet-the-fans gathering at USJ Summit. Night time at 8 pm, there's another similar function at Sg. Wang (outdoor) I so wish that they would have it in-door coz once it's an outdoor event, you're under the mercy of mother nature. Luckily, there was only a very slight drizzle that lasted a few minutes and the sky cleared right after that. The venue is not ideal at all - way too congested with weekend shoppers and passers-by,which resulted in very limited standing space for diehard fans.

The artistes were pretty punctual, I would say. They arrived a few minutes past eight. Moses turned up in my fave colour - bright green shirt ! He was his usual charming and down-to-earth self. In total, they played only two rounds of games with the audience. The first one involved Q & A about "Moonlight" series and some personal questions concerning the stars. The second game was much more interesting whereby the artistes and fans are separated into two groups, competing with each other. They are supposed to dance and when music stops, all of them had squeeze and stand on a piece of paper. Of course, the paper will be folded and becomes smaller, making it a challenge for everyone of them to stand on it. That's why, as you can see from the snapshots posted, many of them consist of "Ah Ka" (Moses) and "Joe Pa" (Har Yue) hugging each other so tightly, with huge smile plasted over their faces. To be honest, greedy little me would rather see "Ah Ka" and "Ah Yuet" (Tavia) locked in an embrace, rather than Joe Bao. Hee Hee. The artistes team managed to beat the fans team, who were probably too engrossed at gawking at the stars than to concentrate. Who can blame them, right ? I was a bit taken aback that the games sessions ended so soon. I have thought that it would be longer. There was a short autograph sessions for selected fans and the artistes only uttered a few sentences before bidding the fans goodbye.
