After this encounter, I would think twice (pun intended) about attending another Bonia-celebrity collaboration event. I had an unpleasant experience when Kim Tae Hee was the special guest for the first Bonia flagship boutique opening a few years ago. I was delighted upon learning that Nayeon’s function (in-conjunction with Bonia’s 50th Anniversary and pop-up store) is at center stage, which offers an exceptional view for onlookers. Bonia granted 250 lucky fans the opportunity to experience the event from fan zone (which I naively thought would be in front of the stage) . Little did I know that fan zone is actually located at the staircase facing centre court. As anticipated, there is bound to be mad jostling when it comes to Korean stars…more so for one of Nayeon’s stature. No different this time as fans scrambled from all angles to the QR code section to scan and secure the greatly desired but limited fan zone passes. Knowing that I won’t stand a chance in the stampede, I had to search for other area within the mall, to gain better visibility of Nayeon. The event was supposed to take off at 3 pm but Nayeon only showed up after 6 pm, for merely 15 minutes. From 3 pm onwards, several syok-sendiri influencers, local artistes and VIPs took started walking down the long red carpet (which coincidently Nayeon did not). Yuna, the local brand ambassador, also took to the stage to sing and had a short Q&A with the lousy emcee. Yuna’s microphone is clearly too soft coz the audio is not audible. So, it’s just the emcee yacking away and by then, many were already extremely agitated after waiting for more than 8 hours and enduring several false alarm moments throughout the ordeal. We just wanna see Nayeon and get this over with. At long last, Nayeon emerged !! Immediately, the thing that caught mine and many’s attention is Nayeon’s Bonia shorts (with red horizontal stripe). Yikes! What was Bonia thinking ? The noticeable bulge is embarrassing and makes us feel uncomfortable for poor Nayeon. Bonia should have selected a more decent attire for Nayeon. It’s no surprise that many went to social media to voice their displeasure at Bonia’s poor planning and also for dressing Nayeon in such a dreadful and degrading outfit. Nayeon didn’t say much during the appearance. However, Nayeon is extremely sweet in-person and keeps waving to the crowd. The highlight is the birthday sing-along as Nayeon’s birthday is the next day. I heard that many waited for hours, yet could not even get a glimpse of Nayeon.
