A Time 4 You Raymond Lam in concert (林峯 A Time 4 You 演唱會2013@香港紅磡)- Jan 26 - 28 2013 - HK coliseum
At the time of writing, the controversial BB figure has finally been revealed as Karena Ng (Raymond’s co-star in “Pyjamas” “男人如衣服”). If you have been following LF (Raymond’s monicker)’s news closely, it is obvious that he has plans to come clean about his relationship with his new squeeze, First, the public thank you speech to “BB” during Jade Solid Gold finals, followed by the lovey dovey lyrics of his latest songs “BB” from “A Time 4 Us”, then Karena’s much publicized attendance of his concert and LF’s reaction to a radio interview a day or two prior to the revelation of his budding romance with Karena. Due to the age gap (14 years) naysayers have resorted to name calling – “pedo”, “cradle snatcher”, to name a few. Personally, if I were in Karena’s shoes, I would leech on to LF too ! This guy is popular, good looking and wealthy, with a freaking rich tycoon daddy to boost! The million dollar question is would a player like LF finally settle down for good and whether Karena has the ability to become part of the Lam family. From his “A Time 4 U” concert, it is a clear sign that Raymond is on his way to become the full fledged superstar and most probably, even bigger than Andy Lau (whom he has been compared to in the past). The number of mainland fans seem to be increasing by scores! I noticed many were clueless when it comes to his Cantonese speech but know his songs by heart. This time around, I was way too tired to wait around for his praying ceremony before the concerts. I wasn’t interested in the over prized concert merchandizes either – the lion logo of his LF’s apparel line is a tad too huge and doesn’t blend well at all with his hip hop theme. Then again, it didn’t stop his massive supporters from making snake lines to grab these stuff.
The first show was a let down. I even told my friend that it was worst than “Light Up My Life” concert, which was nearly 1.5 years ago ! I couldn’t feel the excitement although dancing elements were added almost non-stop to his repertoire. I still rate him top marks for vocal coz this boy can sing live extremely well, despite the chokness overkill at times. His concert hairstyle looks like a blond bird nest and when slicked back during the slow numbers, he is such a cutie, just like Tin Tin (the cartoon character). I guess I made my judgment too soon coz during the second night of the concert, I had a different feeling. It was way better than “Light Up My Life” afterall, probably due to the fact that LF is finally getting the hang of his performance as he charismatically held the stage on his own. LF flaunted his dance skills but frankly, it wasn’t any different than before. I was so hoping to see Joey as his special guest star but it didn’t materialize. All I had was Mag Lam Yan Tung, Lollipop F and surprise!, Kay Tse. Kay put a foot in her mouth again when she brought up the “bb” topic during the concert. After so many previous incidents, Kay still loves to embarrass herself by saying the wrong thing. LF’s final song for the concert is the hit song from “Highs and Lows” (雷霆掃毒) - "幼稚完". It was indeed a touching moment as the audience sang the first half of the song to LF (watch the video clip). The final show was the best (as in all HK concerts – always opt for the last performance !) as composer, Tang Chi Wai, duet with LF on "幼稚完" during the encore segment. LF announced that he will be focusing on his acting career and the next concert, I guess, will probably be 2-3 years after this. I may not be a fan of his but I definitely look forward to cheer him on during his return to the HK coliseum!
