Astro flew in the casts of Tiger Cubs 2 -飛虎II,  comprising Joe Ma( 馬德鐘), Him Law (羅仲謙), Oscar Leung(梁烈唯),  and Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪) to Malaysia last week for a series of promotions for TVB’s blockbuster dramas for the second half of 2014. Joe Ma reprises his role as the senior SDU inspector.  Linda Chung took over as Joe’s love interest from Jessica Hsuan, who had dropped out from the sequel. Both suffered injuries during the shooting of Tiger Cubs 2 and Joe claims that this drama is his most challenging ever due to the many grueling action scenes and filming under the sweltering HK weather.

Not surprising that Him Law continues to be the crowd’s favorite in this testosterone charged event. Benjamin came in a close second in the popularity scale, judging from the cheers and placards plus "BEN" shapped balloons during the final leg of the meet-and-greet session at Paradigm mall. Sometimes Benjamin may look kinda stern but he is actually an easy going guy who treats his fans well. After the function ended, Benjamin deliberately emerged from the tent to shake hands with the audiences, going from one corner to the next.

The biggest treat of this function is the impromptu group performance of Alan Tam’s 中最愛”byFour” boy band (a name the four dudes coined in jest). Their camaraderie is wonderful! What fascinates me is their sense of togetherness, with Joe playing the leader/big bro role throughout the promotion. From the pixs, it is pretty obvious that these guys were having so much fun. Their broad smiles and laughter really bump up the production of endorphins in the audience. Him’s team (with a member of the audience) lost during the shoot-the-bowling pins match and the penalty is to lift two dumb bells. Fans went berserk at the sight of Him’s rippling biceps when lifting the dumb bells. I told my friend that if Him did sing, it would be Leon’s “夏日傾情 and I was right! He sang just a few verses though.

Benjamin belted “從未在意” (an Edwin Siu number) and a duet with Oscar - 友情歲月. Oscar is definitely the light of the party, creating many hilarious moments with his cheeky remarks and over-the-top gun-toting pose. Both Oscar and Benjamin are such good buddies, constantly making funny faces at each other. Astro also made a biggie announcement which should make many current Wah Lai Toi package subscribers jump for joy. Now, at similar monthly rate, they get to enjoy AOD drama channel (which broadcast TVB drama simultaneously as HK) too.  Astro showed trailers of dramas scheduling to go on air for the next 6 months and I must say, some of them really piqued my interest, especially the up-coming “Black Heart  White Soul”, where Roger Kwok takes on the role of a sly crippled lawyer.
