I love Hong Kong 2013 promotion - Joyce Cheng, Jerry Koo @ So Gay & Eric Tsang (我愛HK2013恭喜發財 -鄭欣宜, 古明華/蘇基 & 曾志偉 ) - Feb 7 2013

“ I love HK” movie franchise continues with “ I love HK 2013” -恭喜發財. The previous two installments did not disappoint. Perhaps it's becoz I've lowered my expectations off late when it comes to HK movies. Bosco is still the leading guy in Eric Tsang’s latest effort, along with Kate (who is now officially in my fave list). Hence, this movie is definitely in my to-watch list. So Gei (Jerry Koo Ming Wa), has been added to the cast , no surprise here considering his runaway success in “Diva in Distress”. Better to have Jerry than the obnoxiously cocky Oscar. Jerry is certainly going places but one day, he has to drop the So Gei persona coz it ain’t gonna do him any good milking this character for too long a period. Doesn't this reminds you of Michael and his played to death, Laughing role ? Why didn’t Eric invite Bosco and Kate to tag along for the promotional blitz ?!! I had a huge shock when 30 mins before the function, my friend told me the breaking news that Michael Tse had flown back to HK !!! Anyway, since I’m at the mall already and have time to kill, might as well stay put and enjoy the show eventhough I’m no fan of motor-mouth Eric nor Joyce. Eric is considering shooting the movie in Msia next year (hopefully not with ego maniac Jack Lim from My FM coz his overrated lunar movies all sucks like hell and insults the EQ). Throughout the meet and greet session, shoppers in the mall kept shouting “Huat ar !!” during the photography session. “Huat” is another Chinese (Hokkien) dialect for “Fatt”. I dunno how Joyce is gonna fare in this movie but I find her acting rather over the top and not as natural as her mum. I've to say Joyce's vocal is pretty impressive and pleasing to the ears. I shall reserve my final "verdict" about her acting skills when I get a chance to catch the movie. Another selling point is the appearance of ex-bombshell Veronica Yip (葉玉卿) who has retired from the HK e-scene but agreed to make a comeback for the sake of her long time friendship with  Eric Tsang. After a short game with 3 very sporting/brave participants (especially the brave auntie), the trio bade everyone farewell.

Sammy Leung and Sharon Chan's lunar new year promotion at 東港城 mall - 陳敏之 & 森美 @ 東港城 (HK) - Jan 27 2013

波地 (Bo Di) Sir and 美辰 (Mei San) literally stole the limelight in “Friendly Fire” (法網狙擊). It came as no surprise that this new on-screen couple are invited to multiple events in HK, especially for Lunar festivities promotions. Sharon was all decked in a fiery red dress, to fit the occasion. I didn’t know earlier but she seems to share the same manager as Tavia. Sammy whom I haven’t seen in years (the last time was at Genting eons ago), was his usual talkative self during public events. If he had not divulged about his past battle with depression, I wouldn't have a clue that this chatty and jovial dude has had to deal with mental anxieties/problems in the past. It's a good thing that Sammy has thriumphed over depression. I've also read a report somewhere that Sammy is extremely brainy and a straight As student. Sammy was cracking jokes about Sharon and her oh-so-looooong-and-sexy 42" legs. The funny thing (to me, at least) about this event is there is no stage. The two stars were surrounded by the media and fans could hardly snap any good pixs of them unless you brought along portable stools (don’t laugh but many did !!). I was on my toes like a ballerina when taking shots of the duo! There were several make-shift shops on the concourse, replicas of old HK days. One of which was a tailor shop and Sharon revealed that she knows a thing or two about sewing as her demised daddy used to be in this profession. Sammy let on that he usually brings his family for vacation during CNY but will be making an exception this year due to the popularity of “Friendly Fire” as he has many public appearances on his schedule. Interestingly, Sharon flew to Malaysia a few days later, with Ron and Edwin Siu for a lunar special recording at PutraJaya for TVB, in collaboration with Astro.
