After
a year’s hiatus and despite earlier announcement of ending the show in 2016,
Astro has forged ahead with the all new season (5) of “Wellness On The Go”. We owe new main sponsor, Kinohimitsu, big
time for the revival of this health infotainment program. The first episode will premiere on August 19th at 8.30 pm, consisting a total of 8
episodes. We have new team members
on-board, in the form of rising stars
Shaun Tam, Joel Chan, Grace Chan and "little fresh meat", Hubert
Wu. Elaine Yiu, is the “veteran” of the
lot, having served as the host since the very first season.
Having
spent more than 2 months in China shooting “Justice Bao”, Elaine Yiu claims
that it has been her longest time away from home.
Elaine shared that she will be going on a Safari vacation with Selena Li, to
South Africa. She will also collaborate on a travelogue with Nancy Wu, along with two hunky actors. Elaine literally stole the
thunder during the press conference by making a startling announcement about a
new business venture in Malaysia. In
fact, she had secretly flown here numerous times, in preparation of the opening
scheduled for September. Hubert asked whether it’s a pet shop. Elaine responded
it’s definitely not because she is a huge advocate for strays adoption. She revealed that it is related to something
which she is passionate about. I have a
strong hunch that it will be a funky eatery serving vegan dishes and aromatic coffee. After all, it’s no secret that she loves
latte and vegetable cuisine. Anyway, the
cat will be out of the bag soon and we’ll soon find out if my prediction is correct. Elaine’s upcoming
drama with be a Jazz Boon production and again, an action packed thriller.
Truth be told, I am kinda turned –off that the male lead goes to Ruco Chan
(yes, again !). Jazz, it’s time to
explore new chemistry with other male artists…why not Vincent Wong ? Hopefully,
please, no more cry-baby scenes for Elaine. It’s time to move away from being
stereotyped in this sort of role.
Katy
Kung plays Hugo’s tormented wife in “Justice Bao”. Katy divulged that she cried
her eyes out every single day. Hugo is the despicable Chinese casanova, Chan
Sai-Mei. Her next project is a new series with Wayne Lai, Ali Lee and Moses
Chan. Prior to the press conference, Elaine and Katy shot the final episode of "Wellness On The Go" the
night before. A touching and inspiring
mini concert, where the mentally challenged children took turns to sing and
perform with musical instruments. Elaine
and Katy were the emcees for the event. Both ladies even baked emoji cookies to
distribute to these kids. Both were obviously moved to the brink of tears after
mingling with them for the past few days.

Hugo
Wong teams up with Grace Chan on “Wellness On The Go”. Their episodes focused on experiencing life with the
elderly, taking up challenges such as marathon and participating in Chinese
Opera. Hugo has not hit the gym for a
long time and had to resume his fitness regime for his upcoming new role as the
airport security officer. When it was
Hubert’s turn to update the press about his forthcoming plans, he said compared
to the rest, he does not have a fixed schedule for now. Nevertheless, a solo
concert is definitely on the horizon and most probably, a new drama, too.
Hubert said having a good partner is vital when hosting a program. He jokingly shared that Moon Lau’s non-stop
whining and monstrous-like voice is hurting his ear drums and he is considering
filing an insurance claim for the “injury” suffered. Their episodes center on returning to nature
and the will-power to stay away from electronic gadgets for 30 hours.
