I believe this is the first stage performance for Miriam after bagging JSG’s Most Popular HK Female Singer 2008. Genting was the last leg of “All About Love” concert, which started its run in HK in 2007. Due to the current economic downturn, ticket sales were not encouraging. I must confess though, I decided to attend the concert after learning that my favourite rapper, FAMA, is going to her guest performer. It’s literally a dream come true for me ! Miriam gave a solid 2.5 hours performance, with extended encore when diehard fans refused to leave. Her folks were in the crowd, too. They looked way younger than I have expected when I caught a glimpse of them at the hotel lobby later. She literally belted out all her classic hits and of course, newer ones like “撈月亮的人" as well. I was kinda disappointed ”當女飛俠愛上萬能俠” wasn’t included in the dance medley. Interaction with the audience was lacking though...she only started warming-up to the crowd towards the end of the concert. To fit the theme of the concert, her costumes were all red, pink and purple (her fave color). I noticed she has a thing for red outfit,too...especially when it comes to dance numbers. From my memory of her last concert in Malaysia, dancing is definitely her weak point. In the past, her dance steps are similar to doing the aerobics. It’s totally different now. She really grooves to the music and is at ease doing more complicated choreography, even to the extend of performing somersault and acrobatic moves ! It may not be perfect but still, you gotta give her credit for trying. When the band played the intro to Sammi ‘s “愛是”, everyone started to scream coz they know it’s time for C-Kwan and 6-Wing to join her on stage !!! Yeah !!! The dynamic duo pulled a fast one on Miriam by changing the lyrics, which touched on Miriam and rumoured beau, Real Ting’s wedding preparation ! It brought the house down ! One word – AWESOME ! I even had a wisful thinking – hoping that they will sing another duet- “風生水起”. FAMA then went on to perform the catchy “舉高只手”, where the audience earnestly participated by waving their hands up in the air. I rushed to the hotel lobby after the show ended. Saw Miriam entering the hotel lift. After a while, Miriam came down with her entourage to attend the celebration party at Imperial Rama. They actually stopped at the lobby for quite awhile coz Miriam was talking to her assistant, who was wiping away tears. Dunno why. Not long after, FAMA, follow suit !!! C-Kwan,6-Wing and their manager were very accommodating and totally nice, I must add. These two adorable guys were chatty, asking questions and all. Yes, I know...I know...FAMA may not look like the typical dishy HK hunks but they more than made up for it with their down-to-earth personality and absolutely enduring in their special kind of ways. C-Kwan told me FAMA will be releasing another album in 2009 and that they have been to KL/Malacca before - doing the pub circuits. Can't wait for them to step foot on our soil again! FAMA FOREVA !!! 舉高只手! 驶乜怕丑!
