Tavia’s first visit to Msia after her double triumph last year (snagging the TV queen crown at Astro and TVB) was blemished by Jazzy group’s poor coordination and terrible planning. The size of the venue was apparently not being taken into account when the organizer arranged for pub table and chairs to be placed in the not-so-spacious atrium. All hell broke loose when scores of Tavia’s fan club members turned-up when the event was about to commence. Normally, the usual practice is organizer would reserved a designated zone for fan club during events. What baffles me is pea brain Jazzy group did no arrangement of this sort and started shoving those who have waited for hours to make room for the fans instead. WTF ! Yours truly refused to budge, of course. Jazzy Group asked RELA (voluntary security) to deliberately stand in front of me and my friend to block our view. What a low and immature cheap shot ! Anyway, after a while, they realized it ain’t working coz a seasoned stalker will always remained unfazed come hell or high water! Hahaha. Jazzy Group has not learnt its lesson after Raymond Lam’s concert fiasco, I guess. Disgruntled concert goers bombarded Jazzy Group’s face book with their grievances and frustrations , even to the extend of posting pictures to substantiate their claim of the shabby treatment.
Kinohimitsu (the collagen brand of which Tavia is beauty ambassador) created a pub-like atmosphere, by setting-up a beauty bar on the stage and with bartender concocting mocktails with Kino’s range of collagen. “Superstar” is the mocktail that has been specially created by Kinohimitsu for Tavia. Taking time out from the shooting of “Hippocratic Crush ” sequal to grace this event, Tavia was glowing in pullback hairdo and tight black knee-length dress. She has gorgeous sexy legs, btw. I have briefly mentioned in my previous post but allow me to praise Tavia again for displaying such professionalism in carrying out her spokesperson role. I would never think twice about recommending Tavia to be a brand ambassador. Tavia not only knows Kinohimitsu’s product inside out but is also a credible personality that does a brilliant job in promoting/giving greater visibility to its brand. Apart from sharing her beauty mantra and a short update on her current well being, Tavia had a photo session with ten lucky Watson top spenders as well as signing autographs on specially designed Tavia Yeung mouse pad for Kinohimitsu customers.
I was caught by surprise when Jentzen, the emcee, suddenly announced that there will be an open Q&A session with the media. Again, it was a dumb move to hand the microphone to paparazzi when posing questions in a public venue. The safer way is to let journalists asked questions without mics but let celebrity respond using microphones. This would minimize unexpected embarrassing moments. The first question that was repeated twice by a female knucklehead press rep made me squirmed. Yes, it’s related to her new flame, Him Him. The way the question was phrased in Cantonese was just weird, confusing and caused discomfort as it seems to be laced with sexual innuendo (whether intentional or otherwise). It’s concerning Tavia’s “self-control”(定力) when facing Kenneth and Him Him. Tavia was obviously caught off-guard by the oh-too-sensitive question but still managed to answer with tact. Attagirl ! The emcee had to step-in and reminded the media not to encroach into Tavia's private life. In spite of the initial brouhaha during the Q&A, a quick thinking English speaking reporter saved the day !! Hats off to the lady (I wonder which publication she’s from. She should get a pay raise !). Her questions were pertinent and skillfully put across, which brought smiles to Tavia’s face. Tavia addressed the queries in Cantonese and I must say, her English comprehension ain’t bad at all ! Some of the questions fielded is whether her fees have increased a few folds since elevating to TV Queen, how she prepared for each role and again, beauty regime (which includes mommy’s homemade nutritious yummy soupy). Lastly, Tavia added that Kenneth Ma is not the only “soon pun” (筍盤)in TVB, Tavis is one too !
