Music Live in Malaysia Bosco (黄宗泽) & Sherman (钟舒漫) - 近距离音乐会 (KL Life @ Life Centre) - 31 March 2012

Little did I realized that I would have multiple "first time encounters" on that fateful night. 1) First time attending live performance at KL Live Center. Verdict : Sucks like hell. 2)First time requesting to watch a concert from cheaper ticket zone despite having purchased a VIP ticket. The most befitting word to describe the organizer (Casa Retro) is freaking brainless ! Vip ticket holders' view were bloody blocked by a horizontal hand rail. Good view is only possible if you choose to be on your feet (which is forbidden) or you have a ziraffe's neck. 3) First time barred from entering the venue due to a small packet of "Jelly Belly" jellybeans in my bag. I tried reasoning with the pea-brain bouncers that the candies would not cause any bodily harm to both celebrities but nope, they wouldn't hear a word of it. Dispose them or get lost ! 4) The most frustrating bit is none other than the no photography rule (yes, again !), which was never printed on the poster. Just when everyone were happily snapping away, suddenly security personnels harassed us to halt photography. Hello ! This is just a mini concert but audience were charged with full blown concert rates ! A mini concert of this scale doesn't warrant this kind of stoopid ruling from the organizer. Like many others, I discreetly took a few shots when the bouncers were too pre-occupied with "barking" at other unlucky concert goers. Enuf about my grouses, let's talk about the show. Sherman's clear-as-a-bell vocal and heartfelt performance saved the day. Seriously, this lady is way too underrated. It's high time EEG allocates more resources to revive her career, which seems to have come to a stand still after the success of "給自己的信." With Meg Lam joining EEG's bandwagon, Sherman's career growth becomes even dimmer. Sherman's self composed duet with Ken Hung - "傻瓜" received considerable airplay recently and has led many to sing along when she belted this number with local artiste, Ling Ka Chun. Next, it was Bosco's turn. Frankly, even if Bosco had sounded like a frog, I would make it a point to catch his live shows. Yes, Bosco may not be the best singer in town and he took a calculated gamble by including all rock numbers into his repertoire. What he lacks in vocal, he more than made-up for it with his strong passion and energetic showmanship. Wonderful rapport with audience and fans has always been Bosco's strong point. That said, I have to agree with many critics that attempting to sing Tiger Huang's "没那么简单" was a grave mistake. Uh huh..I actually cringed when he tried with all his might to hit the high notes. Bosco brought along his own band (comprises of four good looking youngsters)for this event. It also serves as a good platform for Bosco to work on his live performance prior to Tang Chi Wai's 平行回憶演唱會 concert in May.
