媽咪俠 · Wonder Mama movie premiere - Petrina Fung Bo馮寶寶
Picture of Joey and Petrina from the internet - during the shooting of Joey's MV "飄紅"
I still recalled my last encounter with HK veteran actress and former child star, Petrina Fung Bo Bo, was at Sunway Pyramid KL eons ago. Then, she was shopping with her second hubby (a Malaysian), along with other family members. I whipped out a card I found in my wallet and asked for her autograph. Now Petrina has officially ended her second marriage and relocated to Penang for good. It also marks her comeback to the HK e-scene (obviously, shuttling between Penang island and HK). Her first silver screen starring role after a hiatus of 21 years is a touching Clifton Ko movie called "Wonder Mama" (which was inspired by a true event that happened to Clifton's relatives). The assistant director is none other than Petrina's son. Bo Bo Jie divulged in earlier interviews that she had contemplated suicide and suffered from depression for 18 years but has since, recovered after embracing Christianity two years back. I'm quite shocked by her revelation. I thought she was enjoying a blissful lifestyle in Malaysia. Just a couple of months ago, I saw Petrina in my idol's (Joey Yung) new mv entitled - "Biu Hung", in which she reenacted her character from the HK comedy classic - " 92 Legendary La Rose Noire". Petrina has bagged two supporting actress awards and acted in countless tv series (both in ATV and TVB). She has certainly not lost her acting chops in Clifton's movie (supported by Babyjohn Choi, Tse Kwan Ho, Kenneth Tsang and Susan Shaw). Having resided in Malaysia for close to two decades, Petrina can now speak a little Hokkien. During the movie premiere in Malaysia, Petrina even offered to entertain the audience with an oldie Mandarin number. Some lucky members of the audience also got hold of her limited edition "Wonder Mama" card. "Wonder Mama" is well scripted (the plot for this movie was conceptualized four years earlier but Petrina did not accept okay when she was offered the role initially) and best enjoyed with your parents/elderly family members. It hits the local cinema circuits on Thursday, 18 June.
Synopsis from "http://thepoppingpost.com/"
Starring Petrina Fung, Susan Shaw (邵音音), Kenneth Tsang (曾江), Babyjohn Choi (蔡瀚亿) and Tse Kwan Ho (谢君豪), Wonder Mama sees Fung play the role of Ah-Oi, a 49-year-old librarian who is also a single mum. Ah-Oi desperately tries to keep her dysfunctional family together when they find out that her teenage maid has been impregnated by her 70-year-old father – with the affair having happened right under her shrewish mother’s nose, no less. A scene ensues and Ah-Oi is torn between her parents’ divorce. Her role as daughter takes on double duty when she realises that the pressure of raising her baby stepbrother will fall to her, even as she questions her own ineptitude at mothering her 30-year-old unemployed son.

FAMA, Hanjin, DJ Jeana Concert in Genting 农夫。陈奐仁。何佩瑜音乐大联盟. 云顶50 周年庆演唱会- 06 June 2015
FAMA rolled out the concert with a spanking new song “P得霸气一点”
, bouncing from one corner of Arena Of Stars to the other , and taking wefie
with the audience. Aside from
entertaining the fans with a string of their familiar hip hop tunes, non-stop
roar of laughters were heard whenever FAMA shared anecdotes about HK concerts,
singers and even poke fun at Canto lingo (Malay style). The crowd were very responsive to FAMA’s cheeky questions. Unfortunately, since
it is not FAMA’s solo act, I had to be contented with just 11 songs. Arghhh !
Next up is sexy siren, Jeanno Ho, famed for her appearance in
“Lan Gwai Fong” movies (喜愛夜蒲). I actually planned
to make use of this time to go for my bio break but scrapped the idea coz to my
surprise, Jeanna puts up a good show. Her singing skill was not bad at all, which
was so much better than many TVB artistes who could hardly hold a tune. If the men were expecting Jeanna to bare
skin, they would be disappointed. Jeanna
exudes charm, in her simple yet alluring attire. The guys seated in my vicinity (obviously
beguiled by Jeanna) were hollering her name on and on. Jeanna had also spent considerable time in
Malaysia last year, shooting with Joyce Cheng and Eliza Shum in action packed
movie, “Special Female Force”.
The final performer for the evening is Hong Kong based Singaporean , Hanjin Tan. I
may not be a fan of his acting or singing but I do have high regards for his
keen and passionate musical sense. I
like many of his compositions (especially the ones he had written for Joey
Yung). It was an eye-opener for me when Hanjin introduced us to a gadget called
“Looper” (from the word “loop” aka “never ending”). In a nutshell, with a loop machine, you don’t need
a band anymore. A single person could very well turned into a full- fledged
band. See for yourself – click on Hanjin’s
clip, singing “一步一步爱“ (a Mandarin duet with Sammi Cheng). Impressive toy ! Hanjin revealed that the singer he admired
most is none other than Taiwanese rocker, Jam Hsiao. Jam’s “Marry Me” was
composed by Hanjin. With “举高双手” being played once again, the two hour concert
came to a close.
