Linda Chung's Malaysia Promo Tour (鍾嘉欣大马签唱会) Private Selection - 28 May 2011
The dream girl of every hot-blooded male is back in her "second home" (or so she says). Linda couldn't have picked a more opportune time to promote his new album, "My Private Selection" (comprising 4 new songs - one penned by Linda, and the rest are made-up of songs from her past two efforts). Her "Miss Koo" (aka Ms Cool)persona in "Yes Sir, Sorry Sir" has been generating positive buzz among netizens, some even went as far as rooting for her to claim the "TV Queen" throne this year. Well...I think that's a little far-fetched (for now at least), although I am part of the statistics that believes Linda has demonstrated tremendous improvement and yes, "Miss Koo" is a more likeable character compared to Ah Sheh's "花家姐" role in "The Colorful World of Sister Fa".
Back to the album..."囉唆" and Korean cover, "I'll be Waiting for You" are easy listening tracks that grows on you after a few spins. "得閒找你" is a self-composed song by Linda and hopefully, the keyboard (gift rom HK fans) will set her creative juices flowing. The weather has not been too kind on Malaysians lately and we were at the mercy of the heat wave again on that fateful day. Yup, emcee (Jim) and Linda were sweating bullets. Linda's dressing might have been a blessing in this "sahara desert" weather (see pixs - shorts and flimsy blouse) but if I were her manager, I would have fired her stylist in the blink of an eye. The outfits she donned on both days (Friday and Sat) were so not "in" and "aunty-ish". It was a pretty brief event and before we knew it, it was a wrap after 2 songs and an autograph session. One good sign I noticed is Linda seems to be more at ease when it comes to interacting with fans/audience. Watch the clip where she attempted to converse in Malay.
