Triggered
by the resounding success of health infotainment program, “Wellness On The Go”
last year, Astro and TVB started the camera rolling again for season 2 in April.
This time, it’s a whole different ball game for the celebrity hosts (similar line-up
as Season 1, with the addition of Mandy Wong and Benjamin Yuen). To spice up
the show, gone are the easy artistes-audiences work-out sessions as the hosts
are now subjected to tough adrenalin pumping sports !
I was
kinda stunned when Sharon was selected to participate in the 18km cycling
challenge –“Klang Premiere Century Ride” event. Sorry to say this but Sharon
doesn’t exactly gives off the feeling of being athletic and I was worried she
might not pull it off. I even told my friend that Astro should have asked the
guys to take up this challenge instead of Sharon, which could be very taxing if one did not have sufficient practice and lack stamina. Deep down, I really hope she could accomplish this. Sharon has formed a very positive impression in my mind over the
years, from my countless encounters with her.
The
competition was segregated into two categories – one for professionals and
another for amateurs (fun ride). After a
short warm-up on the stage, Sharon was all set for the race! Sharon revealed
that she has never cycled for such a long distance before. She could easily pass off as a professional
cyclist with her full bicycle attire and shades. One heck of a cool babe!
Sharon proved that my concerns were uncalled for. Yes! Sharon rose to the
challenge and completed the feat. The best part is I think Sharon has really develop an interest for cycling and sports in general, as can be seen from her recent Weibo posts.
Good for Sharon ! Come August, Sharon
will return to Malaysia for a mini
concert with Bosco, Laughing, Jordan Chan, Kate and Sammy.
