A bunch of "Young and Dangerous" artistes refused to lead "Lives of Omission" after parting ways and decided to bring their "Friendly Fire" performances to Malaysia, resulting in local fans experiencing "The Ultimate Addiction". "2014 Unbreakable Bond(友情滙聚音樂會)" Live Concert ensemble features Jordan Chan(陳小春), Sharon Chan(陳敏之), Michael Tse(謝天華), Kate Tsui(徐子珊), Bosco Wong(黃宗澤)and Sammy Leung(森美). A moment of silence was observed prior to the show, as a mark of respect for passengers of flight MH17.
A 100% HK production, the organizer did not skimp on expenses. They went all out in terms of lighting and sound system. I take my hat off to them for sticking to their principles despite lackluster ticket sales. The atmosphere is akin to a fun-filled private party. I have never seen such an abundant of flower bouquets given non-stop to the artistes. One easily gets 6-7 bouquets !
The opening act is multi-talented popular deejay/mc/actor - Sammy Leung. I was surprised that Sammy is quite at ease in singing and did not go off-key. Madcap Sammy generates heavy doses of laughter with his selfie jokes and "lan" gag, even poking fun at his long time "victim" (partner), Kitty Yuen. During the game session with the fans and Sharon, he had everyone in stitches with his witty banter. A bold auntie planted a kiss on Sammy's cheek when he distributed freebies to the audience.
As much as I adore Bosco, I just do not and will never dig his punk rock smokey-eyes style and head- banging music. Bro, it is so not you. Just stick to bubble gum pop ! I believe this is the second time he had brought his band mates to our shores. I've seen them performed at KL Live Center many years ago. Bosco bounces around from one edge of the stage to another, trying hard to energize the audience but did little to command my attention...more so, when he took to the mike with "Zombie." For the record, Bosco's performance was passionate but unfortunately, not to my taste.
Jordan light up the stage with his unique strong voice and dance without missing a cue. This dude has not lost his mojo! His choice of songs brought back great memories and I love the way he grooves in a suit. Sweeet !
Jordan let on that if Ekin gives the nod, the chances of staging "Young and Dangerous" concert in Malaysia is not far from becoming a reality. Since elevated to daddy status, Jordan has certainly become more mellow. I love Jordan and Michael's bad-ass duet, too.
I couldn't agree more with Sharon when she said that Malaysia is almost like her second home now. She is a regular visitor, flying here every 3-4 months or so, for endorsements deals, concerts, awards shows...you name it. In fact, Sharon will be in KL again next week ! This gal is hot property and I can't be more happier for her. Sharon's vocal remains steady while doing fast songs and grooving to the beat. I admire Sharon's good-natured and hard working attitude. Can't wait to see Sharon- Sammy Shum pairing in the soon-to-be-released ,"Line Walker" drama.
I dunno why but Kate talks so fast that night that it sounded gibberish. Kate, too, has improved and sang live a lot better than before. To me, Kate is most sexy when she is dancing, not when she pouts her luscious lips ! And Kate heats up the stage with her dazzling dance moves for her final song.
After leaving TVB, the opportunity to see Laughing in-the-flesh is hard to come by. I hope he goes back to TVB eventually...perhaps sign a per series deal with attractive terms and bigger pay check. Michael enraptures the crowd with his explosive foot work. He then went down the stage to greet and shook hands with fans. Not many remember that Michael was in Jacky Cheung's - "Snow. Wolf.Lake." Michael gave a heart felt rendition of the song, "Love Is Forever" from the said musical.
