Astro 嘻嘻哈哈喜洋洋 嘉年华- TVB艺人敖家年、滕丽名(Pierre Ngo and Joyce Tang)

Since getting involved and eventually married to Canon executive, Matthew Chu, Joyce Tang’s average drama production is one per year. She was in a modern day comedy during the last festive season and this year, she is back with an ancient Chinese New Year drama (inspired by the classic Leslie Cheung movie, “A Chinese Ghost Story”).  The cast is almost similar (except for the exclusion of Pierre Ngo).  Joyce and Oscar Leung team-up as  a married couple in this series.  Joyce flew to Malaysia twice in the same week to promote “My Spiritual Ex- Lover.”  For this promotional event, she is joined by Pierre Ngo. Apparently, the new official must-sing-song during TVB overseas function is now -越難越.

Coincidently, the original singer, Jinny Ng, also starred in My Spiritual Ex-Lover.”  Pierre Ngo’s rendition was only passable. I have seen him doing better in other songs. Joyce was dressed in all red, just like a walking “lai see fung” /red packet (as described by Pierre).  Joyce, being a former “New Talent Singing Awards” contestant gave a stirring performance of a Sandy Lam mandarin number, followed by a beautiful soulful duet with Pierre - 你最珍贵. Absolutely love the second part of the song when they  were so absorbed singing it below the stage and near the spectators.  I noticed in almost all interviews with HK celebrities, they can never escape from the question about food.  No exception this time. Joyce and Pierre want to try the fruit king, Durian, especially the popular and expensive  “Mau San Wong” (Musang King) species. Pierre had just completed shooting the drama series (“Lord of Shanghai” – tentative title) with Anthony Wong.  He plans to visit Bhutan with his family during the CNY break.  Pierre also revealed that he has been to Langkawi Island for vacation before.
