Principal shooting for “ Wellness On The Go” wraps up this
month. The season finale will be airing on
July 17th and 24th at 8.30 pm on Astro Jade and WLT/HD (310
and 311 channels). The fourth instalment boosted a staggering 16 hosts,
obviously trying to end the series on the highest of notes. Four presenters have been assigned to each
episode, with new faces such as Owen Cheung, Gloria Tang, William Chak, Eliza Sam, Matt
Yeung and Hugo Wong joining the line-up.
The theme is nothing new, which is “Go Green”….preaching the usual
recycling and save the earth mantra.
Elaine Yiu, Moon Lau, Lai Lok Yi and Katy Kung were in Selangor
and Pahang to film the last segment of the program, briefly joined by Nancy Wu
as the special guest star. Natalie Tong
also appeared in the press conference held at Lui Farm. Elaine Yiu is the only artiste who had hosted
the show since season 1 till 4. Nancy
was in Season 1 to 3 but in the fourth chapter, it’s only a cameo appearance. Nevertheless, Nancy is thankful that she has the chance to participate in the “Wellness”
journey for the past four years.
The number of episodes have been shortened to only four,
hopefully packing more punch to the storyline. Elaine, Moon, Lok Yi and Katy
later turned-up at the meet and greet session at Watsons Sunway Pyramid. I am
surprised that Moon Lau has a bunch of young lads supporting her with placards
at the function. Lai Lok Yi is fast
becoming a familiar figure in Malaysia, having just appeared in Penang, Melaka
and KL last month for the Dragon Boat (Tuen Ng) festival special, along with Sharon
Chan.
Katy, Lok Yi and Elaine are obviously pretty tight. Lok Yi was seen wrapping his arms around them
and laughing/whispering non-stop throughout the occasion. 15th June
also happens to be Lok Yi’s big day and Watsons surprised him with a birthday
cake. His birthday wish is to be a daddy soon.
Katy accidently cuts her finger
during the game session but the ever attentive Lok Yi immediately showed his
caring side by helping Katy bandaged her wound.
The four shared that they were at the elephant sanctuary to help bathe
the elephants, visited red mangrove, spent time at organic farms, had a taste of
eating raw corns and of course, binging on the sinful durians (the obscenely costly musang king species). One thing noticeable from the start of the
season till now is that all the TVB artistes genuinely had fun shooting the
program. This also happens to be Elaine’s
first filming assignment after lying low for almost 6 months (accidently bitten
by her pet dog, Tung Tung). It is rather unfortunate the doggy incident occurred
right after she had clinched the best supporting actress award. Both
Katy and Elaine will be back to our shores in July to shoot “All Things Girls –
Malaysia version”. I wished that the new season of "All Things Girls" will have a different format. Honestly, last year's was quite boring. Deep down, I know now
is the right time to end the much acclaimed "Wellness on the Go" with a bang. Somehow, my heart still feels heavy…probably concerned
that I will have less personal encounter with my fave stars. Hopefully, both TVB and Astro would put
together a fresh and gripping unconventional infotainment program soon.
Seriously, if an avid TVB supporter like me has become extremely picky in the
TVB dramas I watch and prefers to indulge in American dramas, it’s time TVB
pulls up its socks. Shallow plot and
recycling annoying Sisley Choi and Grace Chan over and over again are bound to drive
audiences away and soon, even the loyal group of “si nai” (auntie audience)
will throw-in the towel.
