" I feel amazing..amazing..amazing...." well, that's how I felt when Taeyang aka Youngbae sets the stage on fire at Stadium Negara during his "White Night" world tour. Opening number "Ringa Linga" roused the crowd to fever pitch when a dapper Taeyang in white outfit and cool platinum blond hair, gyrated to the funky melody...dazzling screaming fans with his powerful vocal. Then he moved on to more familiar hits such as "Body", "Superstar" and also covered all the songs from his latest effort, "White Night". He asked the crowd whether they liked his new album and let on that he had the most fun working on"White Night." Tayeang's engagement with the crowd is simply marvelous...his twinkling eyes contact with the fans, captivating smile sending hearts aflutter...teasing the crowd by asking them the time half-way into the concert (which the mischievous fans responded by saying it's only 7 pm when it's actually 8 pm already) and repeatedly saying "Aku cinta padamu" (I love ya in Malay). He recalled his maiden trip to Malaysia was during Big Bang's Alive tour (yes ! I was there, Youngbae !!) and has since come over to our shores numerous times. Let me do a quick math here (Alive, "Thinking of you" fans meeting, Rise solo tour, Made concert, Made VIP tour and of course, the current "White Night" stop)....6 in total ! And we hope more to come after he has completed his mandatory army services.
Taeyang also expressed his gratitude to the VIPs for supporting him as well as the rest of his Bang Bang compatriots for the past decade. I can't point out a single flaw in this concert bcoz he is one heck of a dope performer. He gives fantastic fans service, has excellent choreography and a soulful magical voice. It's a smashing world class performance ! Taeyang also played the keyboard and serenaded the fans with Big Bang's hit ballad, "Last Dance." He introduced his band members and mentioned that "Darling" would be the final song but added "depending on your response." Fans chanted "Taeyang" before he burst into stage again for the encore melody. The encore segment really pumped up the crowd...chart busters like my favourite "Good Boy", "Break down", "Bang Bang Bang" and "Fantastic Baby" are so damn explosive !!! Taeyang ended the show on a high note with "Eyes Nose Lips". As with his other stops, fans threw him daisy flower crowns, hats....he wore them all. I rushed to YG Republique restaurant/bisto, hoping to catch a glimpse of him but unfortunately, Taeyang bailed. I'm having Youngbae withdrawal syndrome already as I typed this....
