Him Law at Gurney Plaza for Launching of Cambridge English Proficiency Programme (羅仲謙 gurney, penang) - Gurney Plaza, Penang (30 Sept 2012)

Having witnessed Him's charm on the fairer teen population, I think TVB should seriously consider a sequel to "Diva in Distress" and name it as "Damsels in Distress." The ladies were literally throwing themselves at the "walking steroid" ! No wonder TVB is willing to make an exception by putting Him on heavy duty promotion although he is managed by Filmko. Joining in the tussle for a piece of this hottie muscle boy is renowned director, Wong Jing. In the pipeline is a remake of cult classic "The Young and Dangerous." Him is set to play the role made famous by Ekin Cheng. This movie could very well catapult Him Law to the forefront of silver screen leading man. Oh...if you are doing a double take when you see the title of Him's event, you are not the first to do so. Yours truly was equally surprised that the function is related to an on-line English program. Did he speaks the Queen's English ? The answer is no. Not a single English word uttered. That said, Him mentioned for future interviews he has no qualms having it conducted in English. It is crystal clear that Him was invited as the special guest due to his magnetic pulling power. The number of books sold during the event (in-order to get Him's autograph)is testament to Him's rising popularity. The organizer is pretty smart to bank on Him's fame to entice more youngsters to embrace the English language. I may be slammed for saying this but I actually preferred the old skinny Him Law in "Your Class Or Mine" and "D.I.E. 2". I find his six pack abs and hulk like biceps too overwhelming. His previous sharp facial features (which used to remind me of handsome Japanese manga characters) have somewhat been overshadowed by his roundish face. Him claimed that he is mighty impressed by the language/dialect prowess of Malaysians. Since his manager is a Singaporean lady, perhaps he could attempt to greet fans in Hokkien dialect the next time he is in town. With his natural and improving acting skills, coupled with his boyish good looks, I have no doubt this guy would certainly make waves in the HK E-circle. Meanwhile, be a good boy, stay out of trouble and please, please, treat Tavia right.
