"Are you here" (碟仙碟仙) held its first Asia grand premiere in Malaysia, even ahead of HK. The casts, Sammy Sum and Jacqueline Ch'ng, Susan Shaw and Nina Paw participated at several publicity blitz around Penang and KL. I, for one, is happy to see Nina Paw in-person...an elegant lady with outstanding acting chops. This movie has several heavy weight horror-queen veterans. First, we have Helena Law Lan (aka "Lung Por"), next is Nina Paw Hee Ching (still remember her creepy performance in Juno's "Rigor Mortis" ?) and lastly, Susan Shaw ("Tales from the dark"). Sammy's career is certainly soaring....the launch of his EP, promoted to playing major role in TVB and his foray into the silver screen. He definitely wow me with his vocal skills. I have seen him performing live before and was mighty impressed. His fan base increased tremendously after playing "Kobe" in "Line Walker". No exception in Malaysia. However, I was shocked by the action of a loony female fan at the event. At first, she yelled non-stop and jumped up and down to grab Sammy's attention to pick her for the fan-artiste game session. Sammy did not pick her. Horrors ! Unfortunately someone else did (I think it was Jacqueline). On stage, she rushed to stand next to Sammy (showing no respect for the artiste who had selected her) and was seen blabbering away to Sammy. At that time, Sammy was paying close attention to the emcee but this lady kept bugging him. Instead of listening to the rules of the game, she demands to have a picture taken with Sammy, if she wins. She puts in no effort whatsoever (unlike other participants) when it was her turn to perform. Making a total fool of herself. The best part is Susan Shaw has been eyeing this girl's antics right from the start and took a dig at her when the chance came up. Haha...Susan did not mince her words at all. You rock, Susan !
