A Flawless Date With Linda Chung 鍾嘉欣 (Bio-Essence) IOI City Mall KL and Gurney Plaza Penang - Oct 2nd and 4th 2015

Linda enjoys a very successful collaboration with Bio-Essence. It has been 6 years and Linda is still going strong as the brand's beauty ambassador.  Kudos to Bio-Essence...every year, fans get a chance to gawk and drool at the sight of  Linda. Nowadays, the only time we get to see Linda is during the Malaysia TVB awards ceremony.  Linda rarely turns up for Astro's drama promotions. The event in Penang was pretty well organized and thank God, no overzealous media folks blocking our view.  Linda BB looks angelic and sweet in pink dress.  As usual, there was a special zone reserved for her fan club members (Linda Garden).  Shoppers with Bio-Essence purchase worth RM80 and above get an autograph from Linda. What else is new, right ? The same gimmick applies for every brand with HK artiste ambassador.  Frankly, I must say the Tanaka white products are reasonably priced, especially in this current shitty Malaysia economic situation.  That said, I am perplexed that "Tanaka white" is still the star product....hasn't Linda been promoting the same stuff last year ...and probably the year before ? I was expecting a new product launch or something. Linda revealed that they stopped at Ipoh for the famous chicken and beansprout rice before heading to Penang. Linda conversed mostly in Mandarin and I am quite impressed with her command of the dialect. She is also all done with the shooting of the cop drama with Bosco Wong. A representative from her fan club presented her with a picture of the siblings on a bicycle (yup, the same mural at Armenian Street).

The event in KL was longer because Taiwan beauty guru, Liu Yen was there to share beauty tips. 5 minutes after Linda stepped foot at the venue, all hell breaks loose. The paparazzi, Bio-Essence staff and photographers were clamoring for a piece of Linda. All the shoppers get to see is just a bunch of asses ! The moron in front of me (mind you, first behind the red rope barrier) has the nerve to stand on a portable stool ! WTF ! Pea brain dimwit ! In the end, the event turns into an ugly Bio-Essence "syok sendiri"(Malay lingo for self-indulgent) thingy. Isn't the whole idea is to reach out to the mass audience ? Otherwise, a closed door press con would be suffice. Why bother doing the road show ? Also, they could have erected a higher stage so that everyone could get a good view. That would have fixed the problem.  No doubt Linda's fans are extremely supportive but the enthusiasm is a little overboard for an open event such as this. The singing and "adoration/pledge of support" speech by the fans should be done during fans club gathering.  By all means, support your idol but make it snappy.  The whole event (seriously, with 月亮代表我的心 playing in the background and Linda singing along), looks like a fan club function to celebrate Linda's birthday. Lol.
