Holy
Moly ! September is one heck of a lucky month for fans of “The Unholy Alliance” 同盟 ! Just the week before, Nancy Wu came over to our shores for a succession of
road shows and press con of a homegrown skincare product. Now, “Kate”
(minus Kent) Elaine Yiu, along with pretty mama, Sharon Chan are in KL,too ! It
was really a letdown that there were zero TVB related functions organized by
Astro after the lunar new year. However,
huge thanks to Watsons, Sharon and Elaine were invited as the special guests of
Watsons Syok Sales Carnival at One Utama mall. This also happens to be
Sharon’s first overseas work trip after welcoming the arrival of her son last
December. I gotta say that the timing of Elaine’s visit is perfect ! With the Malaysia TVB Awards just around the corner (I predict
voting should start in the middle of October), it’s definitely a great
opportunity for Elaine to get up close and personal with her Malaysian
audiences before the voting period.
I’m
keeping my fingers and toes crossed for Elaine to make a strong come back with
the very well-received “Kate” character. My most fervent wish is for Elaine to bag
the Fave Supporting Actress, Fave Couple (with Joel) and My Fave Character
awards. Yeah, grab ‘em all, Elaine ! I’m all fired up to vote ! Elaine
shared that it’s a massive challenge to play this role as she is required to
execute a number of action scenes, which isn’t her forte. Elaine has been working-out
quite a bit to prepare for this physically taxing part and the results has been
astounding! Major rave reviews from almost all media and evidently, her popularity
went up a few notches as well. Keep up the momentum, Elaine !
Elaine
had just celebrated bff, Nancy Wu’s retro themed birthday party the nite before
and participated in the press con for the 胡說八道會Australia travel show. Elaine is also in Malaysia to shoot the 3rd season
of “All Things Girl” (Malaysia version). The hype is really building up
as “The Unholy Alliance” enters its final week of broadcast. The last episode
will be aired on Wednesday, Sept 11th. Elaine will still be in
Malaysia when “The Unholy Alliance” airs the finale. The nagging question on everyone’s mind is “who
is big boss ?” (aside from Elena Kong) ? Elaine was not spared from this
question but she claims that acclaimed producer, Jazz Boon, has barred the cast
from divulging the identity of the mysterious mastermind.
Now,
good looking is one thing. Beautiful is another. Jaw-dropping gorgeous
that takes your breath is how I would describe Elaine these days. Recalling my first encounter with her
many years back, Elaine is pretty…now, she is super captivating and oozing with charm.
Hopefully, the next time I blog about Elaine, it will be about the
positive outcome of the awards ceremony.
Sharon replaces Elena Kong as one of the co-hosts of “All Things
Girl” (with Katy Kung and Sarah Soong). As Elaine puts it, Elena is too
tied-up being the “big boss” (referring to Elena’s “The Unholy Alliance”
character), so Sharon has to step-in to fill the void. Sharon couldn’t
contain her excitement when coming to Malaysia as the self-professed “BKT (Ba
Kut The) queen” said she could eat Ba Kut Teh three times a day and still clamor
for more. Sharon’s new drama, “Heart of
Greed 3” will be broadcasted soon, a series she worked on about two months
after delivery. Sharon revealed that she
actually enjoys being a workaholic and does not mind being sleep deprived.
Sharon hopes to equally divide her time in being a mother, actress and business
woman. Her cookies venture, Blesscuit Bakery, keeps growing and is considering expanding it to Malaysia.
